Protecting cut and crush points for large and heavy motorized facilities such as hangar doors, theater stages or automated guided vehicle systems (AGVs) presents a particular challenge because they have a high moment of inertia and long braking distances.
Duelco's safety bumpers, HSB, which are capable of absorbing longer braking distances, help protect against these kinds of hazards.
The safety bumpers work according to the highly efficient and reliable normally closed (NC) contact principle and ensure that the automatic activation is stopped immediately upon contact, for example with a body part.
What is a safety bumper?
Safety bumpers sensitive devices which detect contact with a person or part of a person's body. They are also called 'bumpers'.
Should a bumper detect a contact or obstacle, the machine will automatically stop.
While safety edges are equipped with one sensor, bumpers can be equipped with multiple signal transmitters and also have an actuation surface that is usually over 80 mm.
Especially suitable for heavy equipment
Safety bumpers are particularly effective in protecting cutting and crushing points on large and heavy-duty equipment.
