How to create peace at your desk

Is there a tangle of wireson your desk? Are you sure the mouse fits your hand? Are the letters on the screen big enough? Remember to check your desk in time to avoid damage.

A good workplace is first and foremost clutter-free and allows for relaxed body movement. If your desk is cluttered with papers, coffee cups and wires, you won't be able to vary the position of your shoulders and hands throughout the day and you'll tense up. So always start by tidying up. It doesn't take long and makes a huge difference.

Good light is underrated
It's also important to have the right light in the office. You want your eyes to last for many years to come, preferably without headaches. Choose a calm ceiling light and a task light that doesn't dazzle. A simple and inviting interior design will ensure that your mind relaxes too.

Do you have enough space?
1 in 5 Danes have their primary workplace at a computer. Without the right equipment, this can quickly lead to an epidemic of discomfort such as tension, back problems and headaches. This leads to employee dissatisfaction and low job satisfaction.

As a result, there is an increased focus on ergonomics and quality when companies are designing office and home workplaces. Carsten Hernvig, Product Manager at Duelco Office & Installation, explains .

They specialize in ergonomic furniture and design for the office. According to him, it is important that the furniture can be adapted to the individual:

- It's important to notice if you're relaxing at your desk throughout the day. If your body and mind can't find peace, you should look at how you can create a better workspace by arranging yourself differently, he says .

Small mouse, big impact
Small movements with many repetitions can turn into injuries in the long run. For example, consider practicing using the mouse with both hands to make it easier to change positions.

- We need to vary our movements throughout the day. It simply provides a better working environment and well-being. That's why good ergonomics and high quality is one of the most sustainable long-term investments you can make for your employees," says Carsten Hernvig.
