What is a safety edge
Using industrial machinery and equipment involves certain risks, including pinch points and cutting and crushing edges. Failure to secure properly can lead to injuries, for example when the machine catches an employee's hand. This is why safety edgings have been developed.
Safety edges are contact sensitive detectors that recognize when a person or part of the body gets in contact with the detector.
If the safety edges detects a contact or an obstacle, the machine's automatic movement is stopped immediately.
wide selection of safety edges in the market
We often come across safety edges in everyday life, but it's rare to actually notice them. For example, when passing through the revolving door at an airport, a safety edge ensures that our arm or leg does not get caught or pinched between the frame and the wing of the revolving door.
In addition to electrical systems that work based on the closed circuit principle, there are also optoelectronic systems. These types of safety edges require a special controller to process the signals from the safety edges.
Haake safety edges are based on the highly efficient and reliable principle of normally closed contacts (NC), which do not require a special control unit.
Adaptable to individual requirements
The simple yet highly effective operating mechanism of our safety edge protectors allows for a wide range of application scenarios. These machines and systems, among others, use our HSC safety edges.
- Machine hoods
- Automatic doors and gates
- Lift tables
- Packaging machines
- Industrial trucks
In addition to a wide range of standard safety edges, Duelco offers many variants that are developed and manufactured according to your individual safety requirements and application.
